JOB TITLE: Gardner

MODE: In-Person PAY: $17.00/hour

Please note: only PCC students can apply. International students may not work off campus.

REPORTS TO: Horticulturist


Tucson Botanical Gardens, a historical oasis in the heart of Tucson, provides a place of serenity and tranquility for wildlife, visitors, guests, volunteers and staff. Utilizing organic products to support and nourish the many varied plants species, the Gardens is a center where one connects with plants and nature through art, science, history and culture. Tucson Botanical Gardens is one of the best small public gardens in America.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain and refine gardens, while working closely with the Horticulturist and Gardening staff.

• Assist Horticulturist with special projects as necessary, i.e. new exhibits, plantings, etc.
• Interact with public; answering plant, general and directional questions
• Rake, water and clean garden areas

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Interest in plants, gardening, irrigation, and garden maintenance
• Willing to learn through hands on experience in the environment
• Exceptional ability to work as a team player
• Ability to articulate learning to visitors and guests when asked

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Proof of COVID-19 full vaccination required
