The Job You Will Perform:

The Riverdale Mill is currently seeking Area Process Manager Paper. The mill produces Brite Top Liner and uncoated free sheet and currently employs approximately 725+ people.

 

The Area Process Manager will  assist with managing the day to day operation of a paper machine. Provide leadership in a goals-oriented environment to deliver target results in the areas of safety, environmental, quality, productivity, employee engagement, and reliability excellence. Manage the performance and development of salaried and hourly members by setting clear expectations and standards of performance through effective one to ones.  This position is responsible for  safety, quality, environmental compliance, employee engagement, process productivity, efficiency, reliability, and area financial performance. Responsibilities will also include the direction of technical resources and process experts who support the area. 

 

 

The  Area Process Manager  will work closely with a variety of different leaders within the department and mill.

 

  1. Provide visible and active leadership in delivering excellent safety, quality , Operational and Reliability results
  2. Develop tools and systems to maintain compliance with all applicable environmental permitting and ensure all environmental compliance systems are reliable and accurate (NCG, air, water, etc.)
  3. Manage training processes in Finished Products in alignment with GMTI to ensure a pool of highly skilled team members
  4. Build effective systems and materials such as operating procedures (SOP), troubleshooting documents (TCC), and other training materials
  5. Support engagement processes to ensure the crews have ownership

 

  1. Coordinate within the Finished Products Business Unit and other business units to optimize area production to meet the needs of the department and the mill, including process balances as needed (e.g. upset conditions and outages)
  2. Complete technical process evaluations and improvements
  3. Seek out and implement best practices using teams, databases, vendors, and other technical resources
  4. Support the manufacturing work systems (MWS) process to prioritize and plan daily work, routine outages, and annual outages including operational, maintenance, and contractor tasks
  5. Be active leader in identifying the capital needs , cost reduction initiatives and implementation to drive lower cost /ton
  6. Provide support for budgeting cycle targeted at delivering year over year savings
  7. Lead and sustain continual improvement in the Manufacturing Excellence culture within the Finished Products Business Unit

 

 

 

 

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

 

  1. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in a Paper Machines Operations.
  2. A minimum of five (5) years of management experience
  3. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related field required or equivalent experience in Paper Machine Operations. 
  4. A demonstrated record of safety commitment and results.
  5. Instill safety as a core value within the team and effectively communicate a shared vision for safety
  6. Quickly develop thorough knowledge of mill equipment and systems
  7. Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to groups and individuals at all levels
  8. Utilize the International Paper Change Process to drive change
  9. Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively
