Assistant General Counsel

Location: Winter Park, FL (Hybrid)

Industry: Real Estate Development & Investment

A leading real estate development and investment firm is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to support its growing legal function. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a vertically integrated organization overseeing all aspects of real estate development across the Sun Belt.

Responsibilities:

• Draft and negotiate real estate, financing, construction, and vendor contracts
• Advise on land use, entitlements, zoning, and permitting matters
• Oversee litigation and coordinate with outside counsel
• Ensure legal compliance across operations and manage risk
• Collaborate with internal teams to align legal strategies with business objectives

Qualifications:

• JD from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing
• 6+ years of legal experience, ideally in real estate or finance law
• Strong transactional background and contract negotiation skills
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational abilities

Preferred:

• In-house experience in real estate development
• Familiarity with construction law and public-private partnerships
