Job Summary

This role combines the administrative and patient support functions of a treatment coordinator with front office responsibilities. The ideal applicant would have experience as an orthodontic assistant. We are seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Bilingual Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator with experience and ability to join our team. This role is crucial in guiding patients and their families through the orthodontic treatment process, from initial consultation to the start of treatment, with the added benefit of being able to serve the wider patient population seen in our practice thanks to fluency in both English and Spanish. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills in both languages, a deep understanding of orthodontic procedures, and a strong ability to build rapport and trust with patients. We are willing to consider and train an orthodontic assistant with excellent personal and professional skills who is looking to step into a treatment coordinator role.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Education: Clearly and empathetically explain orthodontic treatment plans, procedures, and expected outcomes to patients and their families, addressing any questions.
  • Treatment Presentation and Acceptance: Present and discuss treatment recommendations from the orthodontist, highlighting the benefits and addressing any concerns to encourage treatment acceptance.
  • Financial Coordination: Discuss financial options, including payment plans and insurance benefits, with patients and responsible parties, ensuring a clear understanding of the costs involved.
  • Scheduling and Logistics: Coordinate and schedule new patient consultations, and subsequent treatment appointments efficiently.
  • Patient Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for new patients, welcoming them to the practice, and ensuring a positive and seamless onboarding experience.
  • Record Management: Maintain accurate patient records, including treatment recommendations, charting, and treatment letters, in the practice management software.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of EHR systems
  • Bilingual capabilities for enhancing patient communication.
  • Previous Orthodontic experience
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong typing skills, including 10-key typing for data entry tasks.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. This role is essential for providing high-quality care to patients while ensuring that administrative processes run smoothly within the healthcare setting.
