Salary: $18-20 an hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating and maintaining CNC machines, with a specific focus on automatic routers and fabrication equipment. This role requires precision and skill to produce high-quality parts, ensuring all workpieces meet design specifications. The CNC Machinist will work closely with other team members to ensure efficient production processes while adhering to safety and quality standards. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with colleagues and management.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines, including automatic routers, to produce high-precision parts.
• Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure all workpieces meet design specifications.
• Adjust machine settings to ensure the proper cutting of materials and the accuracy of the final product.
• Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Monitor production processes, ensuring quality standards are met throughout the production cycle.
• Ensure all parts are produced in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and optimizing machine efficiency.
• Keep work areas organized and clean, adhering to safety guidelines and maintaining equipment in good working order.
• Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes.
• Maintain detailed records of production runs and equipment maintenance.

CAPABILITIES / KEY COMPETENCIES:

• Strong knowledge of CNC machinery and routing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and precision in producing high-quality parts.
• Proficient in machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.
• Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude in a team setting.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for effective communication with team members and management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably with experience in automatic routers or similar machinery.
• Experience with CNC programming and adjustments is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is a plus.
• Proven track record of producing quality work in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds as required.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work with fine precision and in a detail-oriented manner.
• Comfort working with machinery and in industrial environments.
