Position Summary

The Dishwasher/Prep Cook is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen while assisting with basic food preparation. This role ensures the kitchen team can operate smoothly and efficiently, supporting both back-of-house cleanliness and meal production.

Key Responsibilities

Dishwashing & Cleaning

• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness of dish area, sinks, and sanitation stations.
• Take out trash, recycling, and compost as needed.
• Sweep, mop, and clean kitchen floors and surfaces to meet health and safety standards.
• Assist with closing duties and overall kitchen cleanliness.

Food Preparation

• Wash, peel, chop, and prepare ingredients according to recipes or instructions.
• Portion and package prepared foods as needed.
• Set up and restock prep stations; ensure all items are labeled and dated correctly.
• Assist cooks with simple tasks to keep workflow efficient.
• Follow all food safety and handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen or food service experience is a plus but not required—willing to train the right person.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized.
• Strong teamwork ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to lift 30–40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Reliability and punctuality a must.
