Food Service Assistant
Location: Madison, WI
Pay: $18.00/hr
Type: Temporary (possible hire after completing 640 hours).
On-Site Staffing Services is seeking skilled Food Service Assistants with culinary knowledge to join the Dining & Culinary Services team in Madison, WI. Positions are available to start immediately.
Responsibilities
Prepare and serve food in compliance with quality and safety standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform routine food preparation tasks (e.g., portioning, chopping, serving) — 20%
Assist and guide student workers — 10%
Prepare basic dishes (sandwiches, salads) and assist with more complex recipes — 10%
Greet customers, answer questions, and provide information about menu items — 20%
Clean, inspect, and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas — 10%
Follow all federal, state, and local food safety regulations — 15%
Coordinate set-up and clean-up for food prep, production, service areas, catering events, and equipment.
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of food production experience (preferred)
ServSafe Certification (preferred)
Ability to pass background and drug screening
Schedule: We have one morning part time shift, two full time second shifts
