POSITION OVERVIEW The HDD Superintendent is responsible for supervising and performing skilled work with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) in the construction, maintenance, and repair of oil/gas transmission lines. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for overseeing daily operations of HDD crew safety and efficiency. Monitors, directs, and participates in all duties of the HDD crew. Responsible for meeting with customers, local officials, locating services, and subcontractors in coordination of projects. Conducts daily safety tailgate briefings. Procures and arranges materials for timely and efficient delivery. Maintains daily company records, such as material and time logs, for company and customer reference. Promotes safety practices and maintains good housekeeping. Ensures equipment and vehicles are maintained and kept clean. Ensures proper tooling is available for drills on the job site. Implements and enforces company policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience with HDD operations. Valid driver's license with a good, clean driving record; CDL preferred. Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in underground oil/gas transmission systems. Understanding of safety regulations, OSHA standards, first aid, and resuscitation methods. Knowledge of local and state regulations, rules, and specifications. Ability to read and interpret plans and instructions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Willingness to travel throughout the United States.
