\n Pay Rate: $52–55 per hour
\n Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (approximately 37.5 hours per week)
\n Contract Length: Full 2025–2026 School Year (with potential to extend)
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Nottoway County, VA. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with varying learning needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This role offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative school environment.
\n\n\n Key Responsibilities \n\nDevelop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
\n\t\n\tProvide differentiated instruction to meet the unique needs of each student.
\n\t\n\tCollaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success.
\n\t\n\tConduct assessments and progress monitoring to evaluate student growth and adjust instruction accordingly.
\n\t\n\tMaintain accurate documentation and compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines.
\n\t\n\tFoster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
\n\t\n\tParticipate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required.
\n\t\n\tUtilize effective behavior-management techniques to support students’ social and emotional development.
\n\t\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
\n\t\n\tActive Virginia teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (or eligibility to obtain one).
\n\t\n\tPrevious experience working with students in special education settings (preferred).
\n\t\n\tStrong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
\n\t\n\tAbility to adapt instructional methods to meet diverse student needs.
\n\t\nSetting: Resource, Self-Contained, or Inclusion (specific placement based on experience and district needs)
\n\t\n\tHours: 7.5 hours per day, Monday–Friday
\n\t\n\tCaseload: Varies by school and grade level
\n\t\n\tStart Date: As soon as possible or per district calendar
\n\t\nIDR Job ID #469800. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 37 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
