Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Travel Location: Hayward, CA Job Type: Travel Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5×8 Days Pay: $2,511.60/week Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts) Position Overview ATC Healthcare is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for an urgent 13-week travel assignment in Hayward, California. The SLP will assess, diagnose, and treat patients with communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders in an acute-care or inpatient setting. The ideal candidate is clinically strong, adaptable, and able to work independently while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to develop effective treatment plans. Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with communication, cognitive-linguistic, voice, and swallowing disorders.
• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and swallowing assessments using evidence-based tools.
• Develop individualized treatment plans and measurable therapy goals.
• Provide therapy for dysphagia, aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia, cognitive impairment, and related disorders.
• Perform bedside swallow evaluations (BSE) and recommend appropriate diet levels.
• Document evaluation results, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on communication and swallowing strategies.
• Participate in interdisciplinary case discussions and discharge planning.
• Maintain compliance with facility protocols and therapy documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Active California SLP license (required).
• Minimum 1 year of recent SLP clinical experience (acute care or inpatient strongly preferred).
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross).
• Proficiency in assessment and treatment of dysphagia, cognitive-linguistic disorders, and speech/language impairments.
• Strong documentation and interdisciplinary communication skills.
• Ability to work full 5×8 day shifts.
• Traveler must complete all facility compliance requirements.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
