Sr. Software Engineer - Trust & Safety

This pivotal role zeroes in on the vital low-level components of our engine, offering you the chance to shape the experiences of millions of users worldwide. Situated within the Trust and Safety Group, this role is integral to furnishing the core functionalities to keep our members safe from a variety of threats and bad actors. We emphasize scalability, reliability, performance, and reusability to cater to the demands of end-users and developers alike. Our overarching goal is to develop a balanced system to proactively and reactively ensure member safety.

What you'll do:

• Deliver code and product to an extremely high standard
• Actively participate in the entire process of development, from initial design to deployment and support
• Guide and train engineers and scientists across a number of teams

About you:

• 4+ years of experience writing software in a professional setting
• Computer Science or related degree
• Strong collaboration skills
• Proven experience driving large and complex projects
• Deep expertise with at least one common programming language
• Strong curiosity and desire to learn and try new technologies

Nice to have:

• Experience with relational databases and nonrelational databases
• Experience in using ML-assisted coding tools (eg Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf, etc)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), and deployments
• Experience in cloud migration, technology transformation, consumer software, Machine Learning, or Recommendations

$185,000 - $222,500 a year

Location: This role is based in Austin, and we ask that you're within a commutable distance to this office, so that you're able to come onsite regularly to collaborate across engineering teams. We have a dynamic working environment. That means that we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all solution for how much time is spent between remote and office locations. We trust our people to pick the location conducive to the types of work being completed on any given day.
