Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Tax Preparer to join our team in Oxford, North Carolina- mostly remote but MUST be located in local Triangle or surrounding area. In this role, you will assist individuals and businesses with their tax filings, ensuring compliance with all current regulations while identifying opportunities to optimize their financial outcomes. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and extensive knowledge of tax codes and software. Responsibilities: - Prepare and accurately review federal, state, and local tax returns for various entities, including individuals, corporations, and partnerships. - Analyze client financial data such as income statements, expense reports, and supporting documents to ensure proper documentation. - Conduct research on complex tax regulations and changes to maintain compliance and provide informed advice. - Offer strategic guidance to clients regarding deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities. - Address inquiries and assist clients in resolving audits or notices from tax authorities. - Support clients with year-end tax planning and estimated payment calculations. - Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical practices in all interactions. - Ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations while meeting deadlines effectively. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. - Proven experience in tax preparation with a solid understanding of current tax codes and regulations. - Proficiency in tax software such as Lacerte or CCH ProSystem Fx, as well as Microsoft Office Suite. - Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with clients and team members. - Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Ability to analyze financial data and provide accurate recommendations. - Commitment to maintaining ethical standards and client confidentiality. - Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
