Job Responsibilities:

\t
• Provide comprehensive care for orthopedic and medical-surgical patients including total joint replacements, fractures, and complex medical conditions
\t
• Manage post-operative orthopedic patients with focus on mobility and pain management
\t
• Administer IV antibiotics, anticoagulants, and other medications per physician orders
\t
• Conduct hourly rounding and bedside shift report to ensure patient safety
\t
• Care for diverse patient populations including those with dementia, substance abuse, and mental health conditions
\t
• Document all patient care accurately in EPIC system
\t
• Float to PCU and behavioral health units as needed
\t
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans

Qualifications:

\t
• Minimum 1-2 years of Med-Surg/Ortho experience required
\t
• Experience with orthopedic post-operative care preferred
\t
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations including behavioral health
\t
• Flexible and self-directed with strong time management skills
\t
• Must live outside 50-mile radius (driver's license verification required)
\t
• No Common spirit Health employment within past year
\t
• Must pass open-book skills exam with 90% during orientation

Licenses & Certifications:

\t
• Current, active Iowa RN license or compact state license
\t
• BLS certification required
