Listed is the base hiring salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to skills and experience. The salary range listed is just one component of the total rewards/compensation package offered to candidates.

Mid = $278,205.29
Max = $342,406.51

Summary

The VP & Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO) is responsible for leading and managing the pharmacy services across Onvida Health's multiple campuses, including inpatient, outpatient, and clinical pharmacy operations. This role ensures strategic growth and alignment of pharmacy services with the organization's mission, vision, and long?term objectives. The VP & CPO will provide executive leadership in pharmacy operations, fiscal management, quality improvement, and human resources management, while ensuring exceptional patient care, operational excellence, and continuous innovation within the department. The role includes overseeing all pharmacy?related functions across the system and driving integrated, collaborative strategies for service?line expansion, clinical support, and new opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities


  • Planning/Vision : Provide vision, forward thinking and strategic planning. Lead the strategic planning process for the department, develop long?term plans aligned with Onvida Healths goals, and champion pharmacys role in system growth.
  • Fiscal Management : Develop and manage the annual budget, ensure cost containment, revenue growth, and financial sustainability across pharmacy services, and identify new revenue?generating opportunities.
  • Customer Service : Communicate values, build respectful work environment, and serve as the primary spokesperson for pharmacy services in outreach and media.
  • Operational Management / Quality : Direct and monitor pharmacy operations, develop processes and procedures, comply with regulatory standards, and lead continuous quality improvement.
  • System Thinking : Integrate pharmacy services across service lines, collaborate with clinical departments, and implement evidence?based practices for patient safety and operational performance.
  • Human Resources Management : Lead recruitment, development, and retention of a highly skilled pharmacy workforce, mentor staff, and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Community : Promote community involvement, expand pharmacy services to enhance patient access, and champion community benefit programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • YRMC FLEET SAFETY CLEARANCE (FLEET)


Education
  • DOCTORATE DEGREE


Required Qualifications
  • Education: Pharm.D. or equivalent advanced pharmacy degree.
  • Arizona Pharmacist license.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmacy leadership, including experience managing multiple campuses or service lines. At least 3 years of supervisory and strategic management experience in a health system.


Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex pharmacy operations and services across multiple settings (inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory care).
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development, cost control, and performance management.
  • Proven track record in leading change, driving strategic initiatives, and optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build relationships across diverse teams.
  • Deep knowledge of pharmacy?related regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and patient safety standards.
  • Experience with community outreach and promoting pharmacy services in regional healthcare settings.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field.
  • Board certification in clinical pharmacy or leadership (e.g., BCPS, BCACP, FASHP).
