We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Controller to join our team. This is an exceptional opportunity to take the reins of our financial operations and steer us towards continued success. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The Controller role is central to our business, and we're looking for someone who can handle the pressure with grace, strategy, and most importantly, results.
Responsibilities:
As a Controller, you will play a critical role in strategic decision-making processes as they relate to budget management, cost-benefit analysis, and forecasting needs.
1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
3. Coordinate all audit activity.
4. Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
5. Monitor progress and changes, keeping senior leadership abreast of the organization’s financial status.
6. Manage organizational cash flow forecasting by working in partnership with the executive team.
7. Assess the financial efficacy of program operations and establish finance and administrative systems to support program operations.
8. Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in strategic financial planning and execution, with at least 5+ years of overall professional experience.
1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.
2. Proven experience as a financial controller, accounting supervisor, or senior accountant.
3. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
4. Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
5. Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
6. Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
7. A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.
8. Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
9. Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of the organization.
