Berkeley, CA-based Terabase Energy is a venture backed startup founded in 2019 by solar industry leaders as a result of a technology spin out from SunPower Corporation. Our mission is to reduce the cost and accelerate the deployment of utility-scale solar through the digitalization of the solar power plant.

To meet this goal our strategy is twofold. Terabase is developing software and operational automation technologies aimed at streamlining the development, construction, and operational processes of solar projects. We work alongside project developers, owners, and engineering & construction firms to support the design, optimization, and construction of huge solar projects around the world.

The Opportunity:

Terabase is currently seeking a Sales Director to join our mission-driven team who will identify, manage, and build our business opportunity pipeline and relationships with designated key solar EPC and IPP accounts . Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Sales Director is responsible for sales of all Terabase core products. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in solar construction processes and methods.

What You'll Do at Terabase:

  • Lead sales of Construction and Operations Technologies to key EPC and IPP accounts in North America, with an emphasis on SCADA/PPC products.
  • Support market launch and commercialization of new products and services
  • Create deep customer relationships for long term sustainable growth.
  • Act as Key Account Manager for select EPCs and IPP’s/asset owners.
  • Lead contract negotiation processes, working with the legal team, to balance Terabase contractual risk with key business metrics.
  • Facilitate R&D and site visits for customers and partners.
  • Qualify and close high value customers and projects.
  • Guide customers through the sales process, working with Terabase’ technical teams, to solve customer problems and optimize their long-term satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback to the application, product, engineering, and executive teams to improve Terabase’ products and solutions
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasting and reporting

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, and minimum 6 years’ experience selling equipment and/or services in the solar pv industry
  • Proven experience and success with complex B2B sales to EPC’s and IPP's with some pre existing relationships
  • Knowledge and familiarity of the utility scale PV industry ; 3 years experience
  • Ability to sell technical products, preference for an engineering background
  • General understanding of development, construction and operations of a utility scale solar power plan
  • Understanding of Supply / value chains within the industry.
  • Helpful if candidate has experience selling SCADA systems and knowledge of solar construction.
  • Contracting and negotiation acuity
  • Customer focused mentality with a consultative approach
  • Ability to adapt and contribute to process improvements in a fast-paced environment
  • Travel (50%) primarily within the US
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional employee groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
