Looking for an Industrial Coatings Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for industrial painting and protective coating projects.

Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and big documents for industrial coating projects
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for surface areas, coatings, and materials
• Estimate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor costs, and production rates
• Evaluate surface preparation methods (abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, etc.)
• Account for coating systems, DFT requirements, environmental controls, and safety requirements
• Prepare complete and accurate bid proposals and cost breakdowns
• Coordinate with project managers, operations, and vendors for pricing and constructability input
• Access project risks and develop contingency considerations
• Track and analyze historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy
• Assist with value engineering and alternative coating solutions
• Support job handoff meetings after project award

Required Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor's degree preferred)
• 3+ years of experience in industrial painting/coatings or construction estimating
• Strong understanding of industrial coatings, surface prep standards (SSPC/NACE), and inspection requirements
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical data sheets
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel
• Effective communication and time management abilities
