SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER

MAYWOOD PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The Maywood Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and collaborative full time Special Education Teacher for a tenure-track Resource Room position at Memorial School, serving students in grades PreK–3. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in providing individualized and small-group instruction aligned with IEP goals, and a commitment to inclusive practices that support the academic and social-emotional growth of all learners. Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) endorsement or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification
• Valid NJ Elementary or Early Childhood Education certification (PreK–3 or K–6)
• Experience developing and implementing IEPs
• Knowledge of differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families
• Familiarity with data-driven instruction and progress monitoring tools

Responsibilities Include

• Provide specialized instruction in a resource room setting for students in grades PreK–3
• Collaborate with general education teachers, CST members, and related service providers
• Implement IEPs and collect data on student progress toward goals
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student growth
• Participate in IEP meetings, staff development, and school initiatives

Salary - In accordance with the Maywood Education Association negotiated agreement and commensurate with experience, salaries start at $55,534.00.
